1992 Corvette Parts
The 1992 LT engine was the first year Chevrolet implemented reverse flow cooling. Instead of routing coolant from the water pump through the block to the heads, the LT1 routed coolant to the heads first. This allowed for higher bore temperatures and reduced ring friction. It also helped cool around the valve seats and spark plug bosses.During 1992, traction control was standard for all Corvettes. ASR (Acceleration Slip Regulation) was created by Bosch and developed with Corvette engineers. It engaged with the ignition, but could be turned off by an instrument panel switch.
One of the most exciting events for Corvette in 1992 was the opening of the Corvette Americana Hall of Fame and Americana Museum. It opened on July 31 in Cooperstown, New York, but ultimately closed in 1998.
