1988 Corvette Parts
The 1988 Corvette was refined in a lot of ways. Some new features included carpeted door sills, solution-dyed carpet, improved “flow through” ventilation for coupes, a lower rearward relocation of the parking brake handle, and more.To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Corvette, a 1988 package was available (for coupes only). It featured a two-tone exterior of white and black, white leather seats and steering wheel, special interior and exterior accents, a console-mounted anniversary plaque, and other unique emblems and distinguishing features.
In 1988, Chevrolet built 56 street-legal Corvettes for the 1988 SCCA Corvette Challenge race series. The cars weren’t made sequentially because the Corvette plant was building in color batches. During this time, most engines were exchanged by Chevrolet for new, sealed engines with more evenly calibrated power output.
