1982 Corvette Parts
The 1982 Corvette was the last of a generation. To honor this year’s model’s special status, Chevrolet offered a “Collector Edition.” In addition to a higher level of standard features that were optional on a base model, the Collector Edition also had a lifting rear hatchback glass – this was a first for Corvettes.Coming in at $22,537, the Collector Edition Hatchback Coupe was the first Corvette with a base price exceeding $20,000. Also, it carried a special code (zero in the sixth digit) in its vehicle identification number, but it didn’t have a separate serial sequence.
Unlike in 1981, all Corvettes this year were produced in the new Corvette assembly plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
