1973 Corvette Parts
The 1973 Corvette showcased the first re-design of any C3 Corvette since 1968. The re-design not only helped the Corvette mature, but also maintained its performance level and boosted its safety standards.First on the list of changes? A body-colored, 5-MPH-crash-compliant plastic nose to replace the sleek chrome unit. Next came radial tires, sound-absorbing pads, new chassis mounts, a fixed rear window, steel beams on inside doors, and an upgraded coolant recovery system.
Corvette enthusiasts and critics alike were impressed with the overall look of the car. However, they were even more impressed at how Chevrolet managed to enhance the look and safety features, while still maintaining a high level of performance.
Amidst the many significant events that 1973 would bring — the launch of Skylab, the Watergate scandal, the end of the Vietnam War, etc. — Corvette brought consumers a revolutionized car that would also be a piece of American history.
