1963 Corvette Parts
In 1963, Corvette started off their C2 generation with a bang, introducing the infamous Stingray. Restyled along the lines laid down by design boss Bill Mitchell’s 1959 race car, the car was complete with hidden headlamps and a “split-window” fastback that lasted only one model year. This unique body design made it one of the most well-loved Corvette models ever.
The 1963 Corvette was smaller, offered electronic ignition, and included an independent rear suspension with a single transverse leaf spring. Z06 Special Performance Equipment option was also introduced to the Stingray (199 produced).
Notably, 1963 brought the first Corvette model that Corvette legend Zora Arkus-Duntov wouldn’t be ashamed to drive in Europe. It was also the year that the Corvette Grand Sport Program built five lightweight, race-ready cars that were all sold to racing privateers.
