1953 Corvette Parts
On June 30, 1953, Chevrolet rolled the first ever Corvette off the production line in Flint, Michigan. As America’s first fiberglass mass-produced sports car, it set a great precedent for many Corvette generations to come.
1953 Corvette production was capped at just 300 roadsters. All of them had a Polo White exterior/Sportsman Red interior color scheme, a two-speed Powerglide transmission, and an 150-HP, three-carb “Blue Flame” inline-six engine. The only options were a heater and an AM radio — although they weren’t really “options” at all, as customers couldn’t request for them to be removed.
Today, the 1953 Corvette will always be remembered as the first model of the “Great American Sports Car.” Anyone who is lucky enough to own one is the beholder of a true piece of American history.
