Great results
I've had a 72 convertible for 38 years with the automatic TH400, 3.08 axle. This kit provided a start to finish method of converting to the 5 speed and is flawless as completed. Welding the bracket was no problem after removing the master cyl & booster as well as the steering column. I started this 3 years ago before hurricane Irma, and then let it sit with the auto trans out for 2 years. Finished Spring2020. You will need a new starter for the manual trans. I also converted the original rubber shifter boot plate to fit. The only other mod was that I cut out and re-fiberglassed the transmission tunnel on the passenger side to provide a bit more room for the knuckle where the end of the trans attaches to the driveshaft. It burns rubber very well and the overdrive gear is a dream on the interstate at 80mph. It is a bit of a project and you have to take your time step by step.
