Description
These tips are entirely made in Michigan by people who know details!
*Correct .062 wall carbon steel materials
*Spot welded pipe to spout back plate
Welded back plate to spout construction as it was originally done. Pipe has correct alignment notch at the top and slot at the bottom.
*The 70-71E tips do not have a weld seam at the bottom.
*The 71L-72 tips are butt welded at the bottom center seam.
The first design 1970 exhaust tip was used through VIN # 14,000. From aboutVIN # 14,001 through 1971 VIN # 16,000, Corvette could have either 1st or 2nd design style tips, possibly 1 of each. From 1971 VIN # 16,000 forward, all cars had the welded seam, 2nd design tips.
Always consult a trained NCRS judge when in doubtabout proper usage.
*Metal finishing is done to best reflect the surface
*G.M. specified in the early 70's
Chrome plated finish replicates that used by G.M. during production, not the high gloss used on any reproduction parts
