1973-1978 Corvettes from the factory had round case mufflers, which can be seen below your rear valance or bumper. From 1979-1982, GM went back to an oval case muffler, similar to what was used in 1963-1972. These mufflers were tucked up under the car and were not visible under your bumper. Corvette Central has designed a line of direct-fit, 1974-1978 oval mufflers, so you don't have to live with your muffler "ridin' low." We call these "Hideaway." Try a set of these Corvette Central improved design mufflers!
