In April we attended the 2007 Corvette C5/C6 Bash at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. The show brought in over 900 pre-registered C5/ C6 owners to display their cars. We spent a lot of time talking with various owners, seeing how they are individualizing their Corvettes, giving us the opportunity to stay on top of the latest trends.
The C5/C6 bash also attracts the top engineers from the Corvette division of General Motors. They were available to answer any technical questions we had on the C5 or C6 Corvette. On Thursday we were invited to dinner and a press release with Rick Hendrick of Hendrick Motorsports, and Friday we attended the Corvette Racing Banquet. Both were amazing events to attend.
One highlight of the event was the unveiling of the 2008 Corvette. There are many changes to the new model, the biggest being the changes to the motor and interior. The LS2 motor found in previous C6 Coupe and Convertible models has been replaced with the new potent 430 hp LS3 (still 200 hp shy of my personal preference). The Corvette owner that wants the comfort and look of a luxury car can now elect to have the interior trim and dash wrapped in leather. The new interior looks amazing. But I’m sure we’ll come up with new accessories to make it even better.
